Another masterpiece by one-of-a-kind director rafhoo. Honestly, a mind-bending watch. I wrote about his work for another HYUKOH single, Aaaannnnteeeeennnaaaaaa, last year, it was one of my favorite music videos of 2025.
Rafhoo has such a unique perspective on the world and he’s able to translate this vision with such a complexity whilst not distracting from the flow of the video and song.
The video for Godspeed! combines various meticulously crafted stop-motion effects and sequences, sometimes layered on top of each other, sometimes synced to the beat of the song, switching between memories, blending everything into each other seamlessly. The transitions are at times mind-boggling, your brain lagging behind a couple frames. All this happens without detriment to the storyline, which is an incredibly hard thing to pull off. Forget not that music video runs for just over 5 minutes!
Check out his (unfortunately) very sparsely populated youtube channel, but the few bits that are on there are a beautiful insight into his longtime examination of visual language.
